Last fall, the airline announced it was launching new, seasonal service to DFW and (PHL) with service
beginning Dec. 17, 2020. American originally scheduled these flights to run through April 5, but due to
strong bookings, the airline extended both flights through the summer.

American Airlines adds nonstop flights to Dallas-Fort Worth for the holidays
After a successful seasonal run, American Airlines is bringing back nonstop flights servicing Daytona
Beach International Airport to and from Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (DFW) for the upcoming holiday season.
The daily flights run December 16 through January 3 departing DFW at 12:20 p.m. and arriving in DAB at
approximately 4:00 p.m. Flights will depart DAB at 4:25 p.m. and arrive at 5:55 p.m. into DFW. Last week,
the airline announced the return of nonstop flights to and from Philadelphia, PA (PHL) for the same
holiday duration.

American Airlines

“We are thrilled American Airlines has brought back both the Dallas and Philadelphia flights for the
holiday season,” said Airport Director Karen Feaster. “Like Philadelphia, Dallas is another market among
the top 10 origination and destination markets in our catchment area, which includes all of Volusia
County, and the planners with American Airlines recognize the demand for service.”
“These two additional flights provide even more of an opportunity for our community to take advantage of
the convenience of flying in and out of Daytona Beach International Airport,” said Joanne Magley, the
airport’s director of Air Service, Marketing & Customer Experience. “Air travel is expected to increase over
the next several months, especially around the holidays.

It is important for travelers to take the entire
travel time into consideration – from the time they leave the house until they reach the final destination.
Flying to and from DAB, instead of an airport that’s more than an hour away, saves drive time, saves time
getting from the parking area to the terminal and saves time getting through the security checkpoint. Plus,
travelers don’t have to battle the large crowds like at many of the larger airports.”

American Airlines also offers multiple, daily nonstop flights to/from Charlotte, NC. In addition, Delta Air
Lines offers multiple daily, nonstop flights to Atlanta, GA.

The most recent FDOT Statewide Aviation Economic Impact Study shows the Daytona Beach
International Airport provides a total economic impact of over $2.1 billion annually to Volusia County while
providing more than 2,382 local full-time employees.
